In the run up to your language-learning adventure, you’ll have loads of things to think about; from what to wear and what to see to where you’ll live, whether or not you’ll need any plug adapters, what you want to get out of your course, and beyond. As a student, you’ll want to explore everything our beautiful Mediterranean island has to offer, so one of the most important things to learn once you get here is how Malta’s transport system works. Buses in Malta A single bus ticket costs €1.50 in winter, €2.00 summer, and €3.00 for the night service. If you’re learning English in Malta for a longer amount of time, it might be a good idea to apply for a tallinja card – it can be a bit complicated to understand the process, but our friendly Easy School of Languages staff can help you get organised, just ask us at reception. If you’re only with us for a couple of weeks, the 7-day Explore Card is your best bet. You can use the bus as many times as you like, on day and night buses, for 7 whole days in Malta and Gozo. The 7-Day Explorer Card costs €21 for adults, €15 for children. Another way to save money on bus travel is to buy the 12 Journey Card, which you can use for 12 single day bus trips or 6 single night bus trips. This is perfect if you don’t need to use the bus every day, but still need to travel a few times a week.
